Works available for purchase
I used to give away my work. I make art because I need to make art, not to sell it. I'm not against selling it. It just isn't my reason for making. Thinking about selling my work distracts me from making the work I want to make. The traditional way of selling art also feels weird to me. Someone buying my work because it might increase in value feels disconnected from what I get from making the art. It feels like they are gambling on my life. My art comes from a deep love for making and a need to express myself. I expect those who buy my work to feel a connection to it and want to purchase it regardless of its future value.

At the end of 2016 I stopped giving away my work. America voted for selfishness and I decided to stop giving away my time and efforts. My work has piled up as a result. I started painting on paper because I didn't have room to store more pieces on board or canvas. Paper has been a freeing experience that allowed me experiment on a small budget and limited space but I want to get back to painting on board and canvas.

Now that I am on my own, after my divorce, and trying to figure out how to financially support myself and my art practice, I am ready to sell my work. I'm ready to send these pieces out into the world to loving homes. I am not interested in commissions. It doesn't work well with why I make art. I need to do it my way.

I am only interested in selling my work to those who truly want them. If you want to financially support me but don't like the work I have available, you can contact me through email: kristinalacain@gmail.com and we can discuss other options.
Please leave the available pieces for those who truly want the pieces in their lives.
Deciding how to price my work was difficult. These are the lowest prices that I will sell these pieces. Don't ask for discounts. This isn't discount artwork. I may increase prices at some point but I would rather paint over them than sell them for less than they are listed here. My days of giving away my work are over.

The purchaser is responsible for paying to ship the piece. Pieces on board or canvas will be expensive to ship. Shipping price will be determined during the purchase process.
